Nicolet Area Technical College Administrative Assistant Program A word or phrase that describes me: I am a people person! I live in Tomahawk Wisconsin. My parents are Erv and Kim Bruesewitz and my brother and sister are Zack 15, and Brogan 17. I am a full time student at NATC where I am in my second year in the Administrative Assistant program. I also work at River Valley Bank in Merrill Wisconsin as a Customer Service Representative when not at school. When not in class or at work I love to go hunting, especially bear hunting in the summer and fall months. I love getting involved with extra co-curricular activities at Nicolet. Currently at Nicolet I am involved with BPA, Student Government and President of Nicolet’s Phi Theta Kappa organization the Nu Iota. I like to volunteer in and around my community, helping throughout the year in numerous fundraising and family oriented activities. I look forward to and am very proud to have the honor to serve the State of Wisconsin and BPA as a whole this upcoming school year as the State Vice President. I have a lot of motivation and dedication towards being the best officer that I can be and getting everyone at the local and state levels involved and on the right track to success. |

Chippewa Valley Technical College Marketing Program A word or phrase that describes me: People Matter! My name is Arturo Schwencke. I was born in what northern people call the “end of the world”: Santiago, Chile. Growing up I was what many call a “book worm”, and thanks to those millions of pages full of wonderful stories I realized two important things. First, that before exploring new worlds I should know my own. Second, that in order to do that I should leave my couch and get out of my room! In 2006 after graduating from high school I went to the university, Law School in Universidad Adolfo Ibanez to be precise, and between you and me…I was bored out of my mind! The university was located in the mountains and while and old and apparently wise teacher (I never got to pay fully attention to what he was saying about positivist law) my eyes wondered through the window, watching every movement that the city was slowly doing. I then decided to leave, worked as a bartender and spent great part of 2008 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. There I fell in love with traveling, with meeting people from all over the world, and one day my intuitive father said: “hey, yes you slacker, what about studying abroad, let’s say the US”. So in month and a half I was in the airport, on my way to Wichita, Kansas, to study communications and integrated marketing. During that first semester I fell in love, not only of a beautiful girl, but of a culture so distinctive and different from mine, but there was something missing. That summer I had the chance of coming to La Crosse, Wisconsin, given that my friend Benny Kusuma had been offered a job in the local hospital and invited me to “couch surf” and see what the state had to offer. I fell for Wisconsin the moment I got here, and since then, given my “hands on” approach to life, I decided to enroll in a Technical college. I want and do live my program and my life to the fullest, I joined Student government, Delta Epsilon Chi, and Business Professionals of America, I had a chance to do something extraordinary, and I did, I made the decision to live with no regrets. |

Nicolet Area Technical College Administrative Assistant Program A word or phrase that describes me: Smiley! My name is Roxanne Garrou and I live in Tomahawk, WI. I am in the Administrative Assistant program at Nicolet Area Technical College in Rhinelander, WI and expect to graduate in the spring of 2011. I have been a member of the BPA for two years and am the current President of the Nicolet Chapter. My experience with the BPA has been very rewarding so I chose to run for a state officer position to accept a personal challenge and help promote the club and recruit more members. I currently work full time as a staff assistant to the production manager at a manufacturing facility in Tomahawk. After 17 years of working there I decided to challenge myself so I went back to school to earn a degree and remain employable. One of the greatest benefits I’ve received as a member of the BPA is the new friendships I’ve acquired and the knowledge I’ve gained through these friendships. I look forward to meeting many more people and to help them get the most they can out of the BPA experience!
